App for Outlook.com v1.2 is the first version of the app that I consider truly robust. After developing 1.0, I quickly realized there were some real limitations with it while trying to use it personally. The biggest problem I had with my initial 1.0 release was that Microsoft's navigation bar was not functional due to Chrome's security model. I worked around it in v1.1 by adding my own navigation bar to the app. However, I also noticed that external links were hindered by the same security policy. I figured out how to work around this and now v1.2 gives you access to the full Outlook.com experience!
Now that I'm fully satisfied with App for Outlook.com, what's next for the app? My goal is to add value to the Outlook.com experience, offering additional functionality that the Outlook.com web interface doesn't provide today. The first thing I'm going to tackle is a way to switch between multiple accounts without having to log out and log back in. This is not possible on Microsoft's website today.
Stay tuned for this upcoming update!
